Held at the swanky Saatchi Gallery in London, UKTV staged a Showcase press event, displaying all the exciting programmes coming up on UKTV's channels over the next year, including the eagerly-awaited second series of David Attenborough's Natural Curiosities!

To celebrate the new series we secured musician and radio-presenter Jarvis Cocker's services to come and interview Sir David and hold a question and answer session. We made sure to film the whole thing, and you will find we'll be posting clips over the coming months.

In trademark dead-pan style, Jarvis quizzed Sir David about his past as a intrepid natural historian and his own favourite moments from this series, including the revelation that the majority of the greenflies in your garden are female, reproducing without the need for males - something that concerned Jarvis deeply!

Alongside exclusive clips from the series and incredible anecdotes from Sir David's illustrious career, we were also treated to a lovely moment where a tawny owl was brought on stage to meet the pair.

Tawny owls feature in the series with their remarkable adaptations needed for their swivelling neck taking centre-stage. Did you know that if you could turn your head round as far as an owl's you would pass out due to the restriction of blood flow to your brain? How do owls cope then? You'll have to watch the series to find out.

Alternatively, if you can't wait that long, you can see Sir David and the tawny owl filmed for the series in an exclusive clip that we posted on our website at the beginning of the summer.
