Filmmaker, naturalist and author Simon King OBE was born on 27th December 1962 in Nairobi, Kenya.

He began his television career from an early age, starting out as a child actor at the age of ten. However, he soon moved into the field of natural history.

Simon's early programmes include Man and Boy, King’s Country and Walk on the Wildside, while he has also contributed memorable footage to some off Sir David Attenborough's and the BBC’s most prestigious wildlife series including Blue Planet, Life in the Freezer and Planet Earth.

Well known for his presenting work, Simon has fronted popular series such as Big Cat Diary, Springwatch and Autumnwatch as well as his series Simon King’s Shetland Dairies.

Simon is involved with many wildlife charities and is currently president of The Wildlife Trusts.
