Life on Earth was first transmitted in the UK in 1979! Since then it has remained as the bastion of natural history film-making.
It begins with a description of the breathtaking evolution of life on our planet with Sir David Attenborough presenting with his characteristic enthusiasm followed by the esteemed broadcaster explaining the development of the vertebrates such as fish, birds and reptiles.
Finally the spectacular final edition tells the story of arguably the most dominant animals on our planet, the mammals.
