Cheetahs are the fastest land animal on earth, keeping up with them is a struggle for wildlife camera operators.

Cheetah Cub
Scruffy looking cheetah cubs have a thick mane along their back not only to keep them warm, but also camouflaged in the dry grass.
-
Speed
Cheetahs are the fastest animal on land, utilising many anatomical adaptations which allow them to reach incredible speeds.
-
Adaptations
Cheetahs use their amazing adaptations to great effect. A flexible spine helps the cheetah to utilise a massive stride, short semi-retractable claws act as running spikes and their long tail acts like a rudder.

Binocular Vision
Binocular vision helps to judge depth accurately. This is incredibly important for predators, such as the cheetah, who need to know exactly how far away a prey species is.
-
Group
Cheetahs tend not to be the most sociable of animals, however they can sometimes be seen in small groups, comprised of either a mother and cubs or a brother coalition.

Feeding
Although cheetahs are some of the most incredible of all predators, cheetah are no match for some of the other predators in their environment. Lions, leopards and hyenas will force a cheetah off a hard earned meal, so they need to eat quickly!
