Science geek turned comedian, Ben Miller has come full circle back to his roots.

Ben Miller

Ben Miller was born on the 24th February, 1966 and is best known as one half of comedy double act Armstrong and Miller. More recently he has presented the science documentary What Is One Degree?

Born in London, Ben was given the unfamiliar first name "Bennet" by his parents. After growing up in Nantwich, Cheshire Ben went on to study Natural Sciences at St Catharine's College at Cambridge University, staying on afterwards to study a PhD in Quantum Physics. Whilst at Cambridge he acted with and dated actress Rachel Weisz.

Ben joined Cambridge University's famous Footlights in 1989 alongside Andy Parsons and Sue Perkins, going on to direct a revue.

What is One Degree?

Post-Cambridge, Ben was introduced to Alexander Armstrong, a fellow Cambridge graduate, and they performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1994 to great success. Television followed with the comedy series Armstrong and Miller was commissioned, running for a total of four series from 1997 to 2001, and regular panel shows, where he showed off his general knowledge and exceptional grasp of science.

In 2011 he went back to his academic roots by presenting Horizon's What Is One Degree?
