Emperor Penguin Colony
Winter: Emperor penguins head out onto the sea ice during the winter to lay their eggs and rear their young. They head far away from the edge of the ice, so that come the warmer months and the retreating ice they do not have to keep moving away from the melt. Mercifully, their journey to and from their food source also gets less and less.

Wolf and Cub
Spring: A wolf looks after her young cub.

Sea Lions
Summer: Sea lions scramble on a beach, displaying their rough 'mane' around their necks.

Snowy Owl and Chicks
Summer: A snowy owl looks over her fluffy chicks. Even though it is summer young polar animals need a thick downy covering to keep out the chill.

Polar Bears
Autumn: Polar bears relax inland before heading out onto the sea ice during the winter months to hunt seals. There isn't much food to go round on the bare tundra, and bears can sometimes get into trouble while venturing into human settlements.
